Well I just recently browsing at Kaskus, the biggest forum in Indonesia. It’s a hub where sellers and buyers could meet and do commercial transcation informally. You could find almost anything there, from ps2, ebooks, multimedia, dvd-r, etc etc, but there is one thread that caught my attention. There is one seller here selling 1200 thesis of many academic field clamped in one dvd. It even has a site!
Oh wow. 1200 thesis in one dvd if that sounds not too fishy. Talk about plagiarism. I wonder why authority hasn’t done anything to this guy.
Is selling and buying thesis is that could be accepted normally? Is this considered “normal” market?

I think the appearance of the site itself really looks like MLM sites, you know ones offering you internet marketing e-books or stuffs like that.

yes, this the type of these shady ebooks seller. authority should have done something about this, imho.
It’s been a long time since I studied at my Alma Mater, but I’ve been told by active insiders that in spite of the recession this kind of trade is still really booming. Supplying and demanding usually is just within the limits of legality. But using it is the problem.
I think it’s up to the Universities themselves to monitor, discover and punish.

I think they need to be punished, I mean, it’s violating the rule of conduct and fair competition, imho. but again, we could never something like this. librarians are mostly the most possible suspect because they have privileges to maintain the soft copy of thesis.
