This is pretty much related to my previous post of anti-megawati club @ facebook, and here I found another interesting group (which potentially turn out into a meme): Say yes to SBY! as the title implies, this is group made by SBY’s supporter. The member is currently about 6000 when I posted this on my blog, but I expect there will be a significant rise soon.
What makes this phenomenon should not be ignored is the fact there are approximately 1.3 million users of facebook from Indonesia. This is an alternative approach to see the grassroot opinions on our upcoming election.
Anyway, the facebook group is pretty interesting to look at, you could see the reception and appreciation of people toward SBY.
But again, internet user is only a glimpse of overall people living in our country, they probably only represent middle class economy minority and not too representative.
But it’s still worth to observe, in my opinion. The facebook effect is not to be ignored, and politicans shouldn’t ignore the power of internet.
SBY for Indonesian President!! Hahaha, I haven’t logged in to my facebook account for weeks since I was having a holiday in Indonesia. It was a surprise when I finally logged in and found tens of invitations to become supporter of Say No to Mega and Say Yes to SBY
I proudly say yes to sby, this country could become worse had it not been him, and also, I like his humble and honest lifestyle. If you stripped all the catastrophes during his last five years in office, he has reached many satisfying achievements compared to his predecessors and considering we are in turmoil of global crisis.
I second that. hahaha. anyway, I’m curious to see how this political drama ends. Who is the one to accompany him as a vice president?
