This is a quick post. A minute ago I couldn’t retrieve my email from my opera usb, the email client said the username and password doesn’t much I thought it was nothing serious until I tried to login and it’s getting weird. I couldnt login with my login information, and I was forced to reset my password.
Suddenly I saw an email like this:
Hello,
I am hastily writing this email to you, I had a trip to the UK
to visit a friend who is presently there for a conference,
unfortunately for me i heard that my friend had traveled out of there
and i decided to lodged in a motel. Most importantly, i am stranded
and need to pay up my hotel bills, as well as my phone bills.However,the hotel telephone service is disconnected,though I still have
access only to the internet,and my mobile phone is out of service,
for this reason i did not take it along with me.Furthermore,the worst part of it is that I had to sell my
return ticket to some one i met at the airport thinking i was going to
be staying for a long duration, and I need a new ticket to make it
back home; kindly, lend me 1500 pounds, so i can return back home and
also
settle the hotel bills, i would return your money
to you as soon as i get home.Finally,please send the money to me or to the hotel manager
through western union money transfer

This is definitely scam, and even worse, someone asked money in behalf of my name! This is worrysome, because someone might believe and transfer the money to the scum! Even worse, my email might could be considered as spam by isp. This could happen to you anytime.
Again, I never experienced this before. I’m not sure what made this happened, but make sure you add alternative email to your gmail account so you could reset its password.
i usually get my scam from Nigerian princes.
but at least you didnt send scam to your friends in address book right?
lol no. you must have gotten the worst case of scam.
Just the day after you had your Gmail hacked, I could not get into my account as well. I must enter additional CAPTCHA letters to get in. That was odd. It seems that someone did try to hack mine as well, for more than 3 attempts, and therefore Google put that security procedure in place.
I never thought that Google was that insecure.
woah thank for sharing jubel, that’s seems weird… have hackers found security hole to gmail? anyway, you should add counter measure, add additional email your gmail account so you could reset your password in worst case situation.
tips before your mail get hacked,
1. dont ever use same password for another account. (everything anti trust)
2. dont keep password on usb, email (sometimes site send registration user and pass to email. ,
3. change your password if you think something odd happend. (regulary change pass)
4. if you use static ip, look at bottom gmail account, see last login ip, if different with your static ip, maybe somebody has got your pass.
