Software for Blogging
A while ago I recommended people to use scribefire to assist the blogging activity. Unexpectedly, my scribefire encountered unknown error that I couldn’t handle of. It started displaying notes about error in XML line and somehow, all my drafts mysteriously disappeared. I couldn’t save draft either.
After googling for quite times, I have spotted two other good blog desktop editor. First is Semagic and the other one is Wbloggar. Both are freeware and supports many blogging service (wordpress, xanga, livejournal, etc). Why blogger should have this? It integrates a WYSIWYG editor and you don’t need to open a browser everytime you need to update your site.
I prefer to use semagic though the interface is a bit outdated, but it’s much easier to use than wbloggar. For some reason I always fail when post something to blogspot. Before you use semagic, don’t forget to change its configuration (you could see the screen shot here)
For wordpress user, use the following configuration on server:
yoursite.com
port:80
Path: /xmlrpc.php
username: masukan login information anda
API: MetaWeblog
For blogspot user, I sadly inform you these two programs couldn’t add tags to your posts, in the end, you must re-edit the posts manually through browser. For wordpress user, you should download it since it could be helpful if your scribefire goes wrong.

Beberapa waktu yang lalu saya sempat merekomendasikan scribefire sebagai aplikasi pembantu untuk nge-blog. Tapi entah kenapa akhir-akhir ini scribefire yang terinstal di firefox saya error. Yang pasti semua notes saya, tulisan-tulisan iseng yang mau saya tulis jadi hilang karena sebab yang tidak bisa saya mengerti (XML line bla3, apa pula itu).
Setelah iseng-iseng meng-google, saya menemukan beberapa software alternatif yang bisa jadi pilihan blogger, pertama adalah Semagic, dan kedua Wbloggar. Kedua-duanya adalah freeware dan memberikan dukungan pada berbagai jenis blog service (Blogger, WP, Xanga, LJ, etc). Yang membuat blogger harus memiliki aplikasi ini adalah dukungan WYSIWYG dan lebih praktis ketimbang membuka web setiap kali harus mengupdate blog.
Saya sendiri lebih memilih menggunakan Semagic karena program ini jauh lebih simpel. Entah kenapa saya selalu gagal mengposting sebuah tulisan ke blogspot melalui wbloggar. Sebelum menggunakan software ini untuk mengposting, jangan lupa mengatur konfigurasi untuk blogger anda terlebih dahulu (screenshot bisa dilihat disini).
Untuk WP, masukkan konfigurasi ini di server:
situsanda.com
port:80

Bagi yang menggunakan blogspot, sayangnya program ini tidak bisa memunculkan “kategori/tag” pada postingan anda. Ujung-ujungnya anda harus mengedit postingan lagi melalui web. Tapi bagi pengguna wordpress, program ini bisa menjadi alternatif jika scribefire anda mengalami kerusakan seperti yang saya alami.
