This is not too surprising, despite the increasing freedom of speech in our country, there are times when democracy clashed the interest of elite politicians. I wasn’t surprised the Anti Megawati facebook group was closed in less than 3×24 hour. Last night I checked it reached around 96,000 supporters and probably has reached 100,000. The google cache’s snapshot was made on 6 April 2009, 20:16:53 (GMT+7), and it had reached 90,171 supporters.
If you take a glimpse to that snapshot, it’s pretty understandable why the group eventually closed. More vulgar and unethical comments were posted by irresponsible users, and might lead the group into defamation or hate-group. (I remember there was pic of sh*t posted into the album).
Would have been better if these people also criticized her constructively instead of one-side bashing, perhaps the group could have stayed longer. Or maybe… it was pdip themselves established the group? Who knows?
also, you could follow some interesting discussion @kompas forum here, or how PDIP actually reported this group to Panwaslu.
This could turn into even worse blunder for PDIP. Just imagine how public will react if newspaper report in headline that “90,000 people say no to megawati”.

how ridiculous. opposition and criticism langsung di-dub “adu domba” and defamation. is freedom of speech still a myth in indonesia? granted the fact that vulgar language was involved etc, PDIp has no business in someone else’s turf. if people want freedom of speech, they need to learn how to ignore the slurs. politics is supposed to be ugly. kayak anak kecil aja. disenggol dikit langsung lapor ke ibu guru…*emosi*
ngomong2, akibat dari penutupan group itu, para supporter sby kayanya langsung join rame2 grup dsay yes to, tadi gw lihat udah 30,000
kira2 ada yang niat bikin grup say yes to megawati ngga ya?
