thanks for the kind words Colson! I always think I’m a lucky person, because my first was published because It won 3rd place of Jakarta Arts Council Novel Competition, was recommended by some author, hadn’t other people helped me, I dont think it would have been published at all.

I’m very slowly translating my novel, but well, since I’m not native speaker, I think it will take forever D:, there are lot of prominent writers here on Indonesia such as Dewi Lestari with her poetic Supernova series, or E.S. Ito who set another standard by publishing Rahasia Meede (Het Geheim von Meede), one of the best novel I have read in decade, a story of hidden V.O.C. gold in Jakarta, I think that novel is more than worth to translate, its multicultural setting could bridge reader in Indonesia and Netherlands, I could rant forever about this, lol

anyway, thanks for showing your interest to read my book! I’m dreaming to enter english market someday though I’m sure it will be tough since I’m not native, well just wish me luck, this is actually the biggest dream in my life

Unfortunately the major part of Indonesian literature is out of reach for me. I depend on translation. Like the two best selling books by Ayu Utami for instance. Her books and those of the late Pramoedya Anata Toer amongst others, are on my bookshelves. For different reasons I think they are fascinating writers.

I would like to add your book to them. I’m curious, because you must be an extra ordinary talented author to have your novel (?) published at a so young age. But I guess I have to wait a little longer.

As for the literary awards: it always is a kind of a gamble. Jean-
Marie Gustave Le Clézio won the Nobel Prize for Literature 2008. Perhaps he deserved it, but most insiders think/thought Philip Roth should have won. I bet that, if you keep track, a lot of awards are waiting for you to collect them in the future.
