1,000,000 Petitions to Stop Uwe Boll

Calvin Michel Sidjaja on April 9th, 2008

For these who don’t aware, Uwe Boll is a german movie director and best known to produce horrible video-games-to-movie adaption. Notable (bad) movies are including: House of the Dead and Alone in the Dark. The movies made are generally very bad that making other directors feel better.

Ladies and Gentleman, we finally have a chance to rid the cinematic world of a cancer. Uwe Boll, the German director behind such horrid video game adaptations as House of the Dead, BloodRayne, Dungeon Siege and Postal, has recently admitted that he would retire from making movies if enough people want him to stop. When FearNet mentioned to Boll a petition online signed by 18,000 people requesting that he cease making films, Boll responded that “18,000 is not enough to convince me.” So how much would be enough?

“One million,” Boll said. “Now we have a new goal.”

Indeed, now we have a goal. All we need is 980,000 more signatures on this petition and we can rid the world of future Boll-directed/produced cinematic atrocities. as my friend Scott Weinberg on Cinematical points out, Tunnel Rats, Far Cry, Zombie Massacre and BloodRayne 3 are already in production. So we might not be able to stop those productions. Be we just might have the ability to prevent a BloodRayne 4 or House of the Dead 3. So sign now!

A lot of Boll’s movies, especially those based on video games, have been critically panned. As of April 4, 2008, Alone in the Dark, BloodRayne II and House of the Dead appear on the Internet Movie Database’s Bottom 100 films list. In a review of Alone in the Dark, Rob Vaux states that the movie should make all other “bad” movie directors feel better in comparison: “‘It’s okay,’ they’ll tell themselves, ‘I didn’t make Alone in the Dark.’” Another reviewer wrote that Alone in the Dark was “so poorly built, so horribly acted and so sloppily stitched together that it’s not even at the straight-to-DVD level.”

He is also rumored to make movie adaption of Metal Gear Solid, a well-known franchise from Konami that have been released in PSX and PS2. Hideo Kojima, who seems admitted the horrible quality of Boll’s produced movie rejected the baseless rumor. It seems pretty obvious how this man seems so unwanted in the movie community, why? He simply made all video games looked so bad. He is wished to cease making more horrible movies, for sake of the world.

Anyway, quit the rambling. If you are interested to stop Uwe Boll on creating another bad movies, participate in this petition, if it reaches 1,000,000 perhaps the terror will stop and may peace shall return to the box office.
